Service terms and public guide

Updated 21 October 2026 (Africa/Nairobi).

The public /terms page now includes a substantive review draft covering operator identity, account authority, customer-owned infrastructure/content, acceptable use, availability/backups, prices and recurring billing, cancellation/withdrawal/refunds, third parties, privacy/account closure, restrictions and complaints. Draft text is shared with the administrator's legal editor through src/lib/service-terms.ts; it is not copied into or published over existing accepted policy versions.

This update does not assert operator approval of a complete contract package. Publishing all legal sections remains a separate explicit administrator action. The draft remains visibly labelled, and signup/checkout legal-version checks remain unchanged. Operator-specific retention, transfers, providers, tax registrations/invoicing, refund operations and any applicable service commitments still require completion and review. No uptime guarantee, arbitrary liability cap, universal refund exception, compulsory arbitration or consumer-rights waiver was invented.

The cancellation/consent language reflects the FTC's ROSCA guidance: disclose recurring terms, obtain express consent and provide a simple way to stop charges. Consumer information and withdrawal need an offer-specific assessment under the EU distance-selling guidance. These sources inform the draft, rather than certifying this business's compliance. See the broader compliance review.

/docs is now a navigable customer guide covering account/workspace setup, verified Ubuntu agent installation, deployments, private GitHub access, networking/DNS, teams/security, monitoring/backups, billing/data rights, operator configuration, support and repository runbooks. It identifies agent 0.7.0 and migration 016, and distinguishes implemented capabilities from unconfigured providers and deferred features. No administrator password or private deployment credential appears in the public guide.
